Glowforge Laser Etched Leather Patch Hat

I dig leather patch hats, they’re super cool with no text, less is more. And they’re a good laser cutter money maker.

You can etch then cut them on your Laser Cutter nicely and fast.

We are going to first create the design in illustrator.

I'm going to create the the outline of North Carolina because that's my state. I have a file linked with all states ready to go.

I just found an image on the web and then I went up to trace silhouette.

I made outside square approximately Two by threes, about the size of the business card.

Some state are square, like Texas.

And then I made the outside stroke a different color.

And then I made the inside Red both 1 pt.

I then saved an SVG , opened in the Glowforge web app and positioned my leather using tape to hold position.

The material is set to thick leather. Operations are to etch 1st then cut out outline shape.

I used a little adhesive, pins, or tape to position and hold down while sewing,

Then I went ahead and sewed the patch on the hat.
