UpSell – Need a Custom Sized Cutting Board?
We also make offer custom sized under the counter boards and breadboards that go into a slot. Our pull out cutting boards provide an easy and economical way to save space in your kitchen. If that old wood board under your counter has seen better days, we can also design a replacement that fits your needs perfectly.
To order, measure the length, width & thickness of your existing pull out cutting board. I have a fully equipped shop & cut mill lumber down to any size you need.
Finally, select how you would like the edges and corners of your board. I recommend ordering the board with similar edges and corners to your old board to ensure a proper fit. The standard is round over edges.
If you no longer have the old under counter cutting board, or you are installing a cutting board in a new slot beneath your counter space, that’s easy too!
If you do not have an existing pullout board just an opening; measure how the thickness of the slot is that pull outboard will slide.
Next, measure the distance is to the very back of your cabinet to the outside edge of the countertop and subtract 1/4″ from that measurement. Subtracting the 1/4″ will ensure that the board is slightly hidden underneath the lip of your counter when pushed all the way in, and present a more attractive look. Now you are ready to measure how wide the slot is that your pull out cutting board slides. I suggest subtracting about 1/8″ from this measurement to ensure the board does not fit too tight and pulls out smoothly.
We can even cut a finger pull on your board so you have a convenient grip to slide the board out from under your counter. For standard finger pulls, I typically route a groove across the short side of your board about 1/4″ off the edge. I can do this at opposite ends of your cutting board the top and bottom sides. The mirror feature gives you the ability to flip the board over when one side becomes worn and doubles the life of your pull out cutting board!
